The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is launching a statewide awareness campaign against drug addiction from September 25 to October 2. During a meeting of the National Narcotics Coordination Portal, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to tackle drug trafficking and address the issue comprehensively. He directed officials to gather reliable information, create effective action plans, and take decisive action against drug offenders. The establishment of a new zonal headquarters for the Narcotics Control Bureau and the setting up of fast-track and special courts for drug-related cases were also discussed. The Chief Minister called for a zero-tolerance policy against drug criminals and encouraged the involvement of voluntary and non-governmental organizations in the rehabilitation of drug addicts.
