The Uttar
Pradesh cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has
approved the installation of CCTV cameras in all police stations across the
state. This decision aims to enhance transparency in police operations and
increase accountability. Five cameras will be installed in each circle
headquarters and district police station, with footage stored for up to 12 months
for investigative and legal purposes. The project, costing Rs. 144.90 crore,
will ensure continuous recording of police station activities. This move
demonstrates a positive step towards fostering trust, preventing misconduct,
and offering a sense of security to the people of Uttar Pradesh.
