Accelerating Sanitation: A Clean Uttar Pradesh for All

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is intensifying efforts under the Swachh Bharat Mission SBM to improve sanitation in urban areas. With the approval of the City Sanitation Action Plan in 160 urban bodies, the government aims to accelerate SBM 2.0 Additionally, plans are underway to strengthen sewer lines and sewage treatment facilities in 70% of the state through the Sewerage Treatment Plan STP. Detailed assessments of sewerage management, including sewer networks, STPs, FSTP reports, and municipal drains, will be conducted to formulate a strategy to achieve targets. The plan focuses on covering all cities with populations exceeding 1 lakh within the next two years. These initiatives reflect the government commitment to enhancing sanitation infrastructure and promoting a cleaner environment in Uttar Pradesh.
