Lucknow: In a bid to ensure 100% benefits of health schemes in every gram panchayat and urban ward, the Uttar Pradesh government has instructed officials to accelerate the ‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign in the state.
Under the campaign, Gram Panchayat and urban wards achieving 100% health related achievement will be honored with Ayushman Gram Panchayat and Ayushman Urban Ward. Additionally, they will be given the status of ‘Healthy Village’ and ‘Healthy Ward’.
The state government has established six health criteria for evaluation, and villages and wards meeting 100 percent of these criteria by March 2024 will earn the designation of being "healthy." During this period, along with distributing Ayushman cards to the poor, the facility of making new Ayushman cards at the village and ward levels will also be made available.
Instructions to complete the indicators as soon as possible
In a high-level meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued necessary guidelines to the health department officials regarding the Ayushman Bhava campaign starting on September 17 across the state. He asked the officials to complete the prescribed indicators as soon as possible to give every Gram Panchayat and ward of the state the status of ‘Ayushman Gram Panchayat’ and ‘Ayushman Urban Ward’.
Under the campaign, 100% Ayushman cards (above 5 years of age) should be made in Panchayats and wards; an Aabha card (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) for every eligible beneficiary above 5 years of age should be made; every person above 30 years of age should be screened for communicable diseases (diabetes and high blood pressure); and in a year, about 30 people in a population of 1000 should be tested for TB.
Along with this, it is necessary for more than 85 percent of TB patients in that Gram Panchayat and ward to get successful treatment. At the same time, it is necessary for every person between the ages of zero and 40 to be screened and card distributed for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)
An organ donation oath will be administered to ‘Ni-kshay Mitra’
At the launch of the campaign, it is necessary for the Municipality Chairperson, Block President, and village heads to be present in the Gram Panchayat, while in the ward, it is necessary for the MLA, MP, Zilla Parishad President, and eminent social workers of the area to be present.
The Chief Medical Officer, District Tribal Officer, District Women and Child Development Officer, and District Panchayati Raj Officer will also be present in the program. During the campaign, Ni-kshay Mitras will be acknowledged under the Prime Minister's TB Free India Campaign. Besides, they will also be administered an oath for organ donation.
